• Tamilnadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi announced in the State Assembly on Wednesday that a huge statue of thespian Sivaji Ganesan would be installed in Chennai soon. The announcement by the DMK led government has won admiration from all the cine buffs and Tamil filmdom too.

• Meanwhile, thanking Karunanidhi for his gesture in honouring the yeoman services of Sivaji Ganesan, his sons Ram Kumar and Prabhu have expressed their gratitude to him. They said, "This is a rare honour for Tamil filmdom and a jubilation for fans of thespian Sivaji Ganesan." They also personally met him and expressed their thanks.
