• The Chief Minister M Karunanidhi has congratulated A R Rahman on winning the Golden Globe Award. In a statement Mr Karunanidhi said,” I am really happy that A R Rahman has won the Golden Globe Award.

• As a Chief Minister I hereby convey my greetings and wishes to him. A R Rahman is the first Indian to receive this covetous wards. He has got this award for composing the music for the film Slum Dog Millionaire.

• A R Rahman has received so many awards for composing music in Tamil and Hindi. Now he has got this universal award. I whole heartedly wish him that he should win more and more awards in his future endeavours.”
