The 100th day function of the movie Periyar:

The 100th day function of the movie Periyar was held at Chennai.

• Periyar, the movie about the great leader, has crossed 100 days in nearly 20 theatres. The 100th day celebration was held at the Kalaivanar Arangam. Honorable Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi who participated in the function distributed the awards for the actor, actresses and also to all the technicians who worked for the movie ‘Periyar’.

• Before they could give the awards CM inaugurated the stone with the name Inamurasu Sathyaraj. The Green stone Ring which belongs to Periyar was given to Sathyaraj by our Kalaingar in order to honor Sathyaraj who came out with his best as Periyar in the movie.

• Sathyaraj, who played the title role, was presented with a ring similar to the one worn by the great reformer. Speaking on the occasion, the actor said that it would not have been possible for him to do the role without the CM’s help. He helped him understand the mannerisms of Periyar and even enacted it for him.

• Khushbu said this was one of her most difficult roles. Manorama, who played Periyar’s mother in the film, said that she had done so many films, but this role gave her the utmost satisfaction.

• The Dravida kazhagam leader Veeramani, Actor Sivakumar, the director of Periyar movie Gyana.Rajashekaran and many other fames in the cinema industry also present at the occasion.
