Karunanidhi’s literary works to be translated into Chinese:
MADURAI: Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi’s literary works will soon be read in China with a university in that country proposing to translate them into Chinese language, according to G. Thiruvasagam, Vice-Chancellor, Bharathiar University.
- Dr. Thiruvasagam, who was here to launch the participatory programme of the university at Yadava College, said the president of Huaihua University, China, had conveyed the proposal to him.
- Bharathiar University has developed a good rapport with the Chinese University, paving the way for Chinese students to pursue degree courses in Linguistics and Computer Science in the Coimbatore-based university.
- Having successfully translated ‘Tholkappia Poonga,’ authored by Mr. Karunanidhi, into English, the university has got the clearance to translate all his literary works into English.
- The English version will be sent to Huaihua University for translation into Chinese language, he said.
- The Department of Linguistics of Bharathiar University has translated all poetic works of Subramania Bharathi into English, he said. An exclusive division handled the publication of all translated works.
